Sometimes our bird hikes get a little challenging with all the flitting and hiding the birds do. So it's a relief to take my camera along and focus on nature that stands still.
I like absolutely everything about milkweed plants, especially the seeds.

Last week we saw a Woolly Bear caterpillar that was about an inch long and so cute. This full-size one is cute, too.
Solomon's Seal, at the time of year it looks the best.
