I didn't really name this quilt from 2011 "Citrus Dog Quilt". It doesn't have any name. But it has citrus colors and dogs in it, so why not.
It's about 4 feet x 4 feet. It used to be a wall hanging, but now it covers a doggy bed. It was a lot of fun to make because I just cut a bunch of strips using my 6" wide ruler, then cut the strips into 6" squares. Nothing easier than that.
Dogs and flowers and peace signs. Regular cotton, and a little flannel, too (top row, middle block).
I added two kinds of geometrics, both dots and stripes.
For the binding, I cut strips from the same fabrics I used in the blocks. You always have to piece your binding anyway, so why not make use of the leftover fabric?
The label and the back. The rectangular label consists of the peach outer border and then the flower block inside. The flowers on the label are supposed to look sort of like the large floral used for the backing.
Sometimes I like to piece my backing to use up fabric, but it sure is easier to just have one large piece, like I did here.
