Nine Batik Blocks

Now that my charity quilts are done, I'm back to working on my own quilts.  Rather than jump around amongst them, I'm going to keep working on them one at a time until each is finished.

First up is the batik version of the Nine Design Compositions Quilt.  I started this in January; I didn't realize it was that long ago!  I finished fusing the blocks a couple of weeks ago, and today I finished top stitching them.  They are approximately 10" square.  Here they are...

 Vertical

This was what the horizontal block looked like after I made it in February.  There wasn't enough contrast for my taste, so I upgraded it to ...

Horizontal

Symmetrical

Asymmetrical

Framed

Radiating

Grid

Circular

This was the original diagonal block I made in January.  There was too much orange and turquoise going on, and I didn't really like all the skinny lines.  This was the first fused block I made for the quilt.  I'll use it as a label on the back.

This is the new diagonal block.

I'm going to put these blocks with the large still life block I made in April.  I have an unusual setting planned for laying out the blocks.
