I just spent several days rearranging four rooms in our house. I thought I was only going to do one room, but when I took a quilt from the wall of room A and put it in room B, then room A looked woebegone. And so it went. (After cleaning up piggy piles, rearranging is my favorite thing to do.) I had to have everything just so. One of the things I did was add a seating corner to my sewing room.
Now I can be still and enjoy my rooms. This is a still life I did last week. I tried putting some items together and going from there, but this imaginary one turned out more fun. So far it's only fused. I'm not sure how I want to handle the edges, but I suppose I better stitch them down. I think I'll do it as part of the quilting, though, so there'll be some depth to the objects.
I'm going to use it as a focal point with the blocks I'm making as part of my compositional design challenge. I better get going on the other seven!
Hi Janet, I enjoy your blog very much. I am inspired by the kimono quilt. Chris
