I haven't done any sewing since I started this blog. It's supposed to mostly be a blog about sewing. I've been spending a lot of time learning to use my camera and blogspot, but I think it might be time to go sew now.
I spent all of August making five miniature quilts which I'll be sharing at some point. But now that it's time to start something new, I can't decide what to do. It's not helped by the caste system of fabric that keeps creeping up over time. The lowest level is old fabric stored in wire baskets on a shelf that is out of my sight line, just like I want it. The middle level used to be my new favorite material. You saw it in my first post.
I now have lots of new, new fabric that I really love (just like I really loved the rest of it when it was new). The new new fabric is laid out front and center in my sewing room, sometimes with books or patterns. Supposed to be inspirational, but I feel like a dog in a butcher shop, as my Dad used to say. I don't know which way to turn.
My new favorite color combination is turquoise and orange and grey and white. I bought this stack at Wisconsin Quilt Expo last week. Some was from Sew Mod and some from Nancy's Notions.
More fabric from Sew Mod. They have a blog, too. Scroll down to their September 6th entry and you can play a video that shows their booth at Quilt Expo.
This arc is from a Rockford store - It's For Quilting. Instead of commuting to Illinois, I just went to their booth at Quilt Expo, where they sell all their Fat Quarters at a special reduced price.
From Stitcher's Crossing.
From Mill House Quilts and Nancy's Notions. I'm sort of tempted to try this next, because City Quilts reminds me of the architectural theme in my Urban Cabin quilt.
From Mill House Quilts and JoAnn Fabric. Hexa go-go offers a nice modern take on the traditional hexagon form. Anyone remember go-go boots?
I was hoping that putting all these photographs together would help in my decision process. It didn't. I still don't know what I want to work on!!! I think I'll go get groceries now.
