I usually make my sandwiches on the kitchen floor, but this quilt is too big. I had to go down to the basement and move rugs and furniture out of the way. After getting all the layers in order, I crawled around on a cement floor for over an hour putting in the safety pins.
Two things made it a not-terrible task.
- The symmetry of the block sizes allowed for a pleasing and orderly grid placement of nine pins in each big rectangle, with three in the small ones.
- HGTV blaring away in the background.
