A Mossy, Ferny, Starry Terrarium

I like when I walk through the aisles of Jo-Ann Fabrics and see something for the first time, like a bag of colored moss.

I didn't know what I was going to do with it, but that shouldn't stop one from buying something they can afford and really like.  The same went for the glass star, which I got at a "dollar" store.  After percolating for about a week, I decided to make a terrarium with them.  Off to the garden center to buy that little fern and the clear plastic saucer.

This is how it came together.  I thought I'd be able to see the star, which is what I planted the fern in.  But I think it turned out better this way.  The gold charger also came from the "dollar" store.  I hope they still have them, because I pulled this one from under a tabletop tree.

This shows the four mosses that were in the bag, a nice variety of color and texture.  I think the silvery white stuff is lichen, though, not moss.

Every woodland garden has its share of rodents.

These colors would make a beautiful something or other; anything.
