I'm in the Mood for Arts and Crafts

My Hobbit House mini quilt had an Arts and Crafts theme.  I'm still in the mood for Arts and Crafts.

I love stained glass and have more than one lamp.  I think next year I'm going to take a stained glass class.  I already have a friend who said she'd go with me.

We need to start getting in our cozy mood now that it's already September.  Pull out the hot tea and books, like this one...

I bought this book fifteen years ago, and I think it's time I dusted it off and reread it.  The first half is a discussion of various bungalow styles.  I always forget how many there are - Queen Anne, California, Mission, Tudor, Prairie, and many others.

The authors move on to discuss interiors, then spend the second half featuring outstanding examples of renowned American bungalow homes.  American Bungalow Style is available in the library system.

Under the dust jacket, you see a classic example of Arts and Crafts wallpaper.

I bought these two tiles at a neighborhood garage sale this past summer.  They are 4" x 8" and I was happy to find a set.  They were made by Motawi Tileworks in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  I don't think these tiles are very old, because they're still making this design, although not in this color.

In 2012 I bought two Arts and Crafts calendars.  The one on block prints was weird (why did I buy it?!?!), but the one on tiles was beautiful.  I pulled it out the other day and was excited to see that all the tiles in there were made by Motawi.

And look what the June picture was!!!  I had forgotten all about that.  Now that's something to sing about.

The calendar is showing one of the three new colors for the songbird tiles.

The orange wooden goblet was from an artist selling at the Winter Art Fair Off the Square several years ago.   I wish I had kept track of his name.  It seems bad form to own a piece of art and not remember the artist.

I love that gorgeous little wooden clock, and keep the two of them together.  I found the clock earlier this year at a thrift store.
